Nicola weighed nearly 21stone when she visited Alton Towers desperate to have a go on the Nemesis ride.
But when she jumped into her seat and pulled the guard rail down it wouldn’t fit (she was a size 24). After much huffing and puffing, three burly attendants tried in vain to push it into place but without success. So, much to her acute embarrassment, Nicola had to get off the ride.
She said: “It was so embarrassing! I had a very unhealthy relationship with food at the time and the weight really started to affect me.”
A friend knew someone who had been using the Cambridge Weight Plan and recommended it to Nicola but as she hadn’t heard of it before she was very sceptical. However after visiting her local Consultant and after losing more than a stone in weight in the first two weeks, Nicola was hooked.
“Because of the way Cambridge works I didn’t have to make any food decisions at all. Just take my four shakes a day and get on with my life,” she said.
Nicola started Cambridge and went from a size 24 down to a size 12/14.
She concluded: “I am already the thinnest I have been in my adult life and watching my body change over the months was a very empowering experience. Rather than go to the Chinese now after work I go to the gym instead and it is amazing. And yes, I have been back on the Nemesis ride without any trouble at all. In fact my friends had to pull me away from the park as I wanted to go on everything, TWICE.”
Nicola has now maintained her new weight for more than a year.
